We woke up early and decided to do some chores before our hosts came back.  We cleaned and wiped down some windows, as well as the upstairs bathroom,  then swept and mopped the hardwood living room floor, kitchen, and hallway.  I’m sure it will all get dirty again when they move their stuff in,  but at least it won’t be AS dirty.

The husband,  Jimmy,  drove us back to the trail around 10:30 and wished us a safe journey. That family provided me with one of the nicest, most random trail experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m looking forward to doing something nice for them…

We only did around 15 miles today,  and every single one of them was as mundane as the one before.  Every day has been filled with windmills, thousands of them,  as far as the eye can see.  We walk through them,  past them,  under them, and around them.  Their unique sounds fill our ears at random times throughout each day.  They were cool at first,  but now they’re just taking away from that real “wilderness experience.”

We finished the day off walking by a bunch of bee boxes that were strangely placed on the side of a highway,  tens of thousands of bees swarming everywhere; then climbing up 2000 feet over four miles,  and making camp.

Katana owned the day once again,  and after four zeros, I think everybody was itching to stretch their legs. The only plan I have for the coming days,  is to do 20 miles or better until I finish the desert.  Only around 130 miles left of it…
